Hello 2nd month of 2016, way to sneak up on us all! Now that it's February I'm sure some of us are starting to let their resolutions and goals fall by the waist side. It happens, life happens. But don't fret, we can always get back on track. Today I'm sharing with you my ideas for sticking with your goals and resolutions all through 2016, or maybe even for life.
In my weak moments, on the verge of calling it quits, I refer to these things to help keep me going.
Remember why you started--
So often I think we let this slip our mind when we don't see fast enough results. We are the generation of instant gratification after all. But I think remembering why you started is absolutely key to sticking with a goal. Usually we start reaching towards a goal because enough things have (or haven't) happened that cause us to finally get up the motivation to start! Remember those personal reasons, your personal motivations.
No matter what goal you're working towards, it's important to learn as much about it as possible. Read an article, pick up a book, talk to professionals. When you're educated on a topic, you set yourself up for success.
Celebrate small achievements--
Don't be so hard on yourself throughout this journey. You probably will slip up (more than once) but don't beat yourself up over it. Allow yourself to celebrate each little achievement along the way. It'll keep you motivated and working hard!
Surround yourself with like minded people--
It's always easier when you have a support system of people that are working towards a similar goal as you. They can lift you up when you're struggling and help you to keep at it.
Use social media--
If you don't have actual like-minded people to surround yourself with, use social media as your support system. I use Instagram and blogs a lot for daily inspiration and motivation. You can read and see peoples journey, struggles, and how they deal with it all.
