Hope everyone had a blessed + happy Thanksgiving yesterday and got their bellies full, I did! Now onto Christmas! Has everyone put their decorations up already? I can't wait to go home to Kentucky to my parents house to celebrate Thanksgiving and see the house decorated for Christmas -- my favorite time of year! For now, it's back to fashion and style with another addition to my On My List series. Today I'm sharing 5 items that will put you right on track with Fall/Winter 2016 Trends.
1. High Waisted Flares
the 70's are Back, yall! These express Flares have me all "heart-eyes over" here. It's taken me a little bit to get on board with this trend but I have to say, I kind of love it!
Finally in Nashville, the weather has started to be a tad more chilly. Which means the jackets & sweaters, the boots & hats...they're all getting pulled to the front of my closet. Currently, I'm obsessing over this green, embroidered jacket from Target. It's lightweight feel and vintage look make it the perfect on-trend layering piece for Fall.
Hi friends! Can you believe this is my first ever #OOTD post?! I've wanted to start bringing style content to B+S for so long, as beauty's always been the focal point in my blogging world. But we all know, beauty & fashion go hand in hand and with time I've developed a love and appreciation for having your own sense of style and feeling confident in the skin (and clothes) you're in. Fashion can transform your attitude, persona, and overall confidence-- just like with makeup.
Oh, and if you're wondering, I fit into no single category of fashion/style. I wear whatever I feel-- my mood, the occasion, the vibes-- it all factors into my style choices each and every day. I'm so looking forward to sharing my style journey with you guys and hope that you gain a little inspiration (at the very least) to discover your own true style.
Anddd... you'll have to forgive me & the beau for being such newbs when it comes to fashion photography. Any tips or tricks (or feedback in general) would be greatly appreciated.
It's been a hot minute, y'all! I've missed blogging and creating content so much! My time away...well, that's for another post, another day. But todayyy, I'm jumping right back in and I'm here to talk about my latest beauty buys. You guys-- Kevyn Aucoin has done it again! From a new foundation, to the prettiest burgundy lipsticks, and a seriously, amazing eye gloss the Fall 2016 Collection, BLOODROSES, is definitely not one to overlook.
The BLOODROSES Collection includes:
- The Etherealist Skin Illuminating Foundation - $58
- The Essential Eye Shadow Set - $58
- The Expert Mascara - Burgundy - $29
- The Expert Lip Color - 5 new shades - $35
- The Exotique Diamond Eye Gloss - Moonlight - $38

Along with a few pieces from the collection, I decided to grab a couple of cult favorites that I hadn't gotten to try:
- The Volume Mascara - $28
- The Precision Brow Pencil - Ash Blonde - $26
As I said, I didn't pick up the whole collection, but I've had a chance to play with it (perks of working at a cosmetic store) and it is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! I've been wearing The Etherealist Illuminating Foundation for about a week now. At first, I was a little disappointed because I was under the impression it was going to be super glowy/illuminating, but it's actually more of a satin finish. If you're an oily skin type, I think you will really enjoy it. My skin is normal to dry, so in the dead of winter I'm not sure this will be a go-to for me, but for now I'm loving it. If you'd like a more in depth review let me know.
I picked up 2 of the lipsticks from the collection, Bloodroses Noir, which is a deep brown/red, and Twilight Lotus, a very cool-toned mauve. I am kind of obsessed with them. They apply like a dream, have great color payoff, and are ultra hydrating.

Next up is The Exotique Diamond Eye Gloss. Now, I know what you're thinking, "this is for editorial looks, it could never work for everyday use." Usually you'd be right, but I've seen my co-worker rock this on a clean lid, with lots of mascara and a bold lip color, and guys, I'm telling you-- it. is. STUNNING! It's a non-sticky formula and literally feels weightless on the eye. Just try it, trust me.
Finally, I picked up The Volume Mascara and The Precision Brow Pencil. The mascara is a tubing mascara with a skinny wand that I finally broke down and bought because we literally cannot keep it in stock at our store. Customers buy 2-3 of them at a time! I had to see what all the hype is about, but I'll have to report back because I tried it for the first time today and wasn't that impressed, but to be honest I usually hate every single mascara the first few times (I don't know why). We shall see. The brow pencil is a given, it's skinny and firm to create hair-like strokes, the ash blonde color is nice for us gray/cool toned blondes, and it has a spooly built in-- yes, please.
