MOTD - Bold Lips + Lashes

Hi guys! I wanted to do a bold Spring/Summer look today. If you've followed me for a while, you'll almost always see me in a nude, or peachy lip color, so I opted for a cool undertone, bright pink to push myself out of my box. I ended up putting on some semi-spiky lashes to tie the look together. What do you think, would you rock this look for upcoming Spring/Summer seasons?

A Lip Affair - Spring '15 Additions

When it comes to makeup I've always had a thing for lip products, probably something about all the colors and textures to choose from. With spring right around the corner, I decided it was time for some new additions to liven up the ole lip drawer at home. I went with 5 picks from the Drugstore, and I must say, I'm pleasantly surprised how much I like these already.

Hidden Gems - Sonia Kashuk Lip Palette

Being a Professional Makeup Artist, I appreciate a product that I could very easily keep for myself or put in my professional kit as well. The Sonia Kashuk 'Jazzed up Nudes' Lip Palette is one of those products. This is perfect to keep in a hand bag or in a touch-up kit on set for the Pros. Not to mention, isn't it a beauty?

Can we talk about how elegant this palette's packaging is though, props to Sonia Kashuk & her team! The top of the palette is a high shine gold (yes, it shows fingerprints, but it's easy to wipe off), and what's inside is even more impressive...

Inside, is a mirror that is the full size of the palette, and includes 5 nude shades + a lip brush. The palette is $19.99, which at the drugstore is more than other prices you see around you, but for what you're getting, I think its a great deal. The combination of shades are perfect and could work on ALL skintones!

Each swatch was applied with one swipe using the included brush. It allowed for pretty nice precision, I thought. The formula of the lipsticks is most similar to a cremesheen lipstick by MAC, except for the brownish/nude (4th from left on my arm), it's a little more sheer than the rest of the shades and has a tiiiiny bit of shimmer to it. Not really noticeable on the lips though.

Overall, I'm very pleased with this palette and have since added it to my professional kit, but I think it's a great buy for a makeup lover just the same. The Sonia Kashuk nude lip palette was part of the Holiday Limited Edition Collection, but I did a quick search on target.com, and it was still available--yay!

*UPDATE 1/1/16* The palette is no longer available.

Let me know if you guys get the palette. Or if you already own it, do you love it?
