I get questions about my skin all the time, so today I'm going to be sharing the products I've been using lately to transform my skin into a more radiant, youthful complexion.
I can't believe it guys, it is officially 2018 and wow, the years go by faster and faster don't they?! 2017 was a year of growth for me in a lot of ways. Specifically speaking, my approach in the beauty realm changed drastically. I became more minimal (well, minimal for a beauty junkie) in my makeup routine with an emphasis on skin/skincare. I also babied my hair this year to nurse it back to life. From my signature lip, to my go to fragrance, and the hair products I couldn't live without, I'm sharing all the beauty products that got me through 2017 and ones I will most definitely be carrying over into the new year...
THE MAKEUP //
Bare Minerals Bare Skin Concealer / Literally wore this as foundation on most days. It's so good and doesn't crease under the eye. If you're dry or have texture try this one!
Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals + Glow Time BB Cream / Mix these two for the perfect coverage and glow. It looks like your skin, but better. A little excessive I know, but trust me on this one.
Jane Iredale Pure Pressed Base / I call this magic powder, because it is! Mineral based, full coverage, but still glow-y. Basically- all things YES!
Therapy Systems Bronzer in Key West / From a brand local to Tennessee, this bronzer is the perfect amount of warmth + coolness. Perfect for sculpting the face. (Most similar to Nars Laguna, but more affordable).
Kevyn Aucoin Exotique Eye Gloss in Moonlight / If you aren't new here you've probably seen/heard me go on and on about this stuff. I practically replaced eye shadow with this eye gloss. It's a staple.
Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop / Can't ever go without highlight. This one is the literal perfectionnn. Pretty suitable for all skin tones too, yay!
MAC Extended Play Mascara / The tiniest mascara brush for precise application. Wears like a waterproof, but is easily removed with warm water and washcloth. I loveee this one!
MAC Lipstick in Creme De Nude / My signature lip, you will rarely find me in anything else. The finish is creamy and also the first lipstick I ever bought from MAC. Oldie but goodie, this one is.
MAC Lipstick in Fleshpot / Similar to Creme De Nude, this lipstick is a perfect nude when I want to pale down my lips a little more. Satin finish so it wears a little longer, FYI.
Jane Iredale Lip Pencil in Spice / Basically the only lip liner I wore this year. Works perfect with the two lipsticks mentioned above and lots of other neutral tones. Jane Iredale is all natural, so...bonus!
Real Techniques Expert Face Brush / I can't say enough good things about Real Techniques brushes. The bristles are synthetic and blend makeup like a dream! This one particularly is my go-to foundation brush. Drugstore FTW.
Real Techniques Deluxe Crease Brush / Marketed for eye shadow but amazing for buffing in concealer on the face & eyes. (Only available in the set).

THE SKIN //
MAC Cleanse Off Oil / The only cleanser I use to remove makeup. Simply the best, and I've tried lotssss.
Avène Thermal Spring Water / Anyone can use (and benefit from) this facial spray. Healing, refreshing, soothing, basically a miracle product.
Omorovicza Reviving Eye Cream / Lightweight, reduces darkness + puffiness, and actually works. #staple
Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturizer / Following suit, this has been the only moisturizer I've reached for in 2017, it's lightweight but fit for normal/dry skin types.
Kat Burki Hand Therapy / This smells so good, you guys. Besides that it's packed full of oils and vitamins with a non-greasy finish (a must!).
OPI - It's in the Cloud / White nails became a staple for me this year. It looks great in photos and goes with everything. This one's the perfect tone, no "white out" vibes over here.
Burberry Women Eau De Parfum / Another one that is probably not very surprising. Johnny picked this one out for me and surely enough it became my signature scent this past year (I just got a brand new bottle if that tells you anything).

THE HAIR //
Kevin Murphy Plumping Wash & Rinse / The smell alone is enough to buy + use this shampoo and conditioner honestly. Butttt, I buy this because of it's densifying properties. I have really fine hair, so any boost in density/volume is a +++ for me (but really guys, the smell is sooo good!).
R+Co Hive Dive Moisture Cream / I use this from mid-shaft to ends on damp hair. It's an extra boost of hydration for dry hair and keeps my hair smooth and shiny. It smells pretty dang good too.
Kevin Murphy Body Mass / It was obviously a Kevin Murphy year for this gal over here, but I truly love their products so much. No parabens, no sulfates, and the options are endless. Body Mass works in the same system as the Plumping Wash/Rinse, but this is a concentrated treatment for density at the roots. I never forget this step.
Klorane Dry Shampoo with Nettle / OK you guys, if you haven't tried this product, you must! It is formulated for oily hair types and when applied the night before I wake up with freshly washed looking hair. AMAZING, I tell you!
Oribe Dry Texture Spray / Pretty much the only dry styling product I need. Adds texture to the hair without being sticky. It has a cult following for the scent too.
Oribe Superfine Hairspray / The best medium hold hair spray around (IMO)! Lightweight enough to not weigh fine hair down, but just enough hold to keep your style throughout the day.
Kevin Murphy Blonde Angel / One of the best blonde conditioning treatments I've tried. I use this maybe once a week to keep the brassiness at bay. Leave it on longer for extra toning.

I would love to know what you want to see more of on Blush + Soul this upcoming year. Leave me a comment below and tell me what type of blog posts you love seeing/reading. I would so, so appreciate that. Love you guys!
It's about that time, y'all-- cooler temps, cozy sweaters, and all the hot chocolate you can drink (extra marshmallows for me, please)-- the winter season is coming and I couldn't be happier about it. But the actual reason I'm here is because when the seasons change so do my beauty needs. Today I'm sharing my minimalist guide to winter beauty essentials. Now get cozy, grab a cup of cocoa and read on...
hair // ORIBE Thick Dry Finishing Spray
Similar to it's "sister" product, Dry Texture Spray, the Thick Dry Finishing spray adds volume, texture, and a tiiiny bit of hold to the hair. I love this one in the winter because it's not as drying as the other one can be.
skin // OMOROVICZA Moor Cream Cleanser
I have normal-to-dry skin so as soon as the temperature gets cooler my skin starts losing it's moisture majorly. That's when I start incorporating cream cleansers and oils back into my regimen. This one by Omorovicza is equally therapeutic & purifying. Great for all skin types too.
fragrance // BURBERRY Women Eau De Parfum
I haven't been able to stop wearing this fragrance. Johnny actually picked this one out for me on his own. He completely surprised me with his ability to pick out what would become my absolute favorite scent. It's warm, a tad masculine + spicy...if you haven't, I challenge you to find a good warm/masculine scent this winter. It's the best!
For makeup in the winter, I love a minimal look with an edge. A softer shade of bronzer, smudged eyeliner or eye gloss, with a deeper nude, matte lip is all I need to feel totally effortless, cool-girl...
This is my ultimate go-to when I'm either rushed or can't be bothered with eye makeup. I've bragged on this product before, but I'm kind of obsessed, sooo you need it. Although it's overall texture isn't sticky or tacky it is glossy, so I like to wear this when my hair is styled more out of my face.
eyes // TRISH MCEVOY Intense Gel Eye Liner*
On days that I'm not wearing the gloss, I like to keep my eyes defined by smudging eyeliner at the base of my lashes and applying a thick coat of mascara. This liner is perfect for this technique because it's super soft and creamy but then sets in place after a minute, so work one eye at a time with this one.
cheeks // TOM FORD Terra Bronzing Powder
My skin gets pretty pale in the fall/winter months so I always opt for a more subtle bronzer, this one by Tom Ford is utterly perfect. It's just enough warmth and pigmentation to sweep over the face and neck for a natural glow, and can we talk about the packaging?? LOVE!
complexion // MAC Prep + Prime Essential Oil
Use a few drops mixed in with your daily moisturizer, mix a drop or 2 with your foundation, or even apply directly to the skin with fingertips for moisture, added glow, and soothing hydration. I adore this product and use it differently depending on my skin and the look I'm trying to achieve.
lips // SMASHBOX Safe Word Matte Lipstick*
I'm a 'nude's' girl, always have been, (probably) always will be. But in the winter I reach for more of a deep nude to add a bit of drama/depth to my look. There are sooo many lipsticks out there, but I come back to Smashbox again and again. It's a comfortable wear and the colors are beautiful.
There you have it, my complete guide for all things beauty this fall/winter season. What are you using as of late? Any updates in your beauty regimen with the changing of season? Alsooo, I know it's been forever since I've posted, I would love to write up a life update for y'all. A lot has changed in my world and I would be happy to share a little more about it. Hope to talk again soon(er than later).

Today I'm talking about some seriously dreamy products that I've been using at night that have brought my skin back to life. If you already have a skincare regimen that you're totally obsessed with, don't leave just yet. I'm sharing a couple of products that you could easily incorporate in with what you're already using, AND will make your other products perform better-- uh-huh, you read that right!

Why I Love It
Thermal Cleansing Balm*
I have normal/dry skin and this product leaves my skin feeling so smooth and radiant, and my favorite part, you apply it on a dry face anddd it can be used on the eyes, win, win in my book.
Queen of Hungary Mist*
Basically, i'm obsessed. use in the am/PM, or throughout the day. Before makeup and after too. I use this all day long TBH.
OK this is everything, y'all! The essence helps prep your skin for serums and creams, helping them to penetrate deeper and perform better. Use it AM/PM.
Sensitive 10% Glycolic Formula*
I'm loving glycolic at the moment for the way it retextures any dull, unhappy skin. If you are in your mid to late twenties+ and aren't using a glycolic, you definitely should start!
I've been using it for about a year now and absolutely love it. It's anti-aging, hydrating, firming...come on, what's not to love? I have my eye on the Omorovicza Illuminating Moisturizer next!
This is a fairly new skincare routine that I've been doing but I am so impressed with my skin. I'm a normal to dry skin type and it wasn't until I started using these products (together) did I get my dryness/texture (even a couple of wrinkles!!) under control. I mean this humbly, but I get complimented on my skin almost daily at work, sometimes multiple times a day. That's pretty amazing if you ask me. It's not about the makeup, it's allll about the skin.
My final thoughts on skincare is this: Our skin is the largest organ on our body, why would we not invest in it and take the best possible care of it? We invest in our hair, clothes, shoes, bags, MAKEUP... why not our skincare? Besides, great makeup starts with the good skin, am I right??
If you're interested in trying any these products, I linked them. But for all my Nashville gals, The Cosmetic Market at the Brentwood Hill Center carries all of these products, so go get some samples & try them out!
Tell me what you guys are using to keep your skin healthy, young, & glowing? I want to know!
